Size and fit

One size, and the microphones it goes on

Every number below is the flag you receive. The 3D mockup above is built from the same measurements, so what you turn around on screen is the size of what arrives.

3" x 2 1/4" x 3" (76.2 x 57.15 x 76.2mm)

One size, printed in PETG, with your logo on all four faces: raised off them, or flush with them. It slides onto the microphone from the bottom and rests where the handle widens under the grille. The microphone is not included.

Fits

  • Shure SM58 and SM48
  • Shure SM63 and SM63L
  • Electro-Voice RE50 and RE50B
  • Audio-Technica AT8004
  • Most handheld vocal and interview microphones

Tell us first

  • Rode Reporter, 41.5mm all the way down
  • Sennheiser MD 46, 49mm body

A printed bore is a fixed 1.34". Wide constant-body reporter microphones need it opened up, which we are happy to do. Say which microphone you use in the order notes and we will size it to yours.

Questions people ask before ordering

What are they actually made of?

PETG plastic, 3D printed in our own studio in Grand Blanc, Michigan. We use PETG rather than the cheaper PLA because a mic flag lives in a road case and rides in a vehicle, and PLA starts going soft at temperatures a closed car reaches in summer. The colour is in the plastic itself, not printed on the surface.

How does the logo go on? Is it a sticker?

No. Your logo is printed as its own layer in a second colour of plastic, fused into the face as the flag is built. You can have it raised off the face, up to 2mm, or flush with it. Nothing is glued on and there is nothing to peel.

Can you print a gradient, or a photograph?

No. A printed flag is made of solid colours, so we print your logo in one or two of them. If your artwork has gradients, glows or a photograph in it, we simplify it to flat colour and show you exactly what that looks like on the proof before anything is made.

How much fine detail survives?

Strokes thinner than about 1mm and text under about 4mm tall have to be thickened, or they will not survive the nozzle that prints them. We do that by hand and you see the result on the proof. The 3D mockup on this page is honest about it: if your hairlines look thin there, they are thin.

What file should I send?

Vector artwork: SVG, PDF, AI or EPS. That is a file made of shapes rather than pixels, and it prints sharp at any size.

What if all I have is a JPG off our website?

You can still use it. It drives the preview and the 3D mockup straight away, and to order with it you add logo recreation for $20. We redraw your logo by hand as vector artwork and send it with the proof for your approval. You keep that redrawn file for anything else we make for you.

Will the colour match our brand exactly?

We match to the nearest filament we can get, and we will tell you honestly how close that is. We do not guarantee an exact Pantone match, and no printed plastic can: the colour comes from the plastic itself rather than from ink that can be mixed. If colour is critical, tell us in the order notes and we will talk it through before we print.

Will it fade, scuff or peel?

There is no printed surface to scuff and no vinyl to peel, because the colour goes all the way through the plastic. It is not UV proof though. Anything left in direct sun for months on end will fade eventually, so store it in the case it travels in.

What microphones does it fit?

Most standard handheld and interview microphones: Shure SM58 and SM63, Electro-Voice RE50, Audio-Technica AT8004 and similar. The bore is a fixed 1.34 inches, so a very wide constant-body reporter microphone such as a Rode Reporter or a Sennheiser MD 46 needs it opened up. Tell us which microphone you use in the order notes and we will size it to yours.

How long does it take?

Finished flags usually ship within 3 to 5 business days, depending on our workload and how quickly you approve the design. If you are already a customer and we hold your design on file, we can usually turn a rush replacement around faster: ask and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit your date.

Is there a minimum order?

No. Order one for a single setup or a set for the whole team, up to 100 at a time. The price per flag is the same either way.

What if it turns up damaged, or you get it wrong?

We replace it or refund it at our cost, and you do not pay to send it back. Email us a photo of the problem within 5 days of delivery: that is what lets us claim transit damage from the carrier, and what tells us what to fix if the fault is ours. We will send a prepaid label. Talk to us before posting anything back. What we cannot do is take back a flag you approved and then changed your mind about, because it was made for you alone and nobody else can use it.

When do I pay, and when do you print?

You pay when you place the order, through a secure invoice. Nothing is printed until we have sent you a proof and you have approved it. Because every flag is made for you alone, an order can be cancelled any time up to proof approval, and not after.
